This was a story I pitched and wrote for The Monterey Herald, a local news outlet in Monterey, CA, on a large number of sea otters aggregating in the Monterey Bay after a series of major storms. It includes interviews with the multiple stakeholders — an otter conservation specialist, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and a kelp restoration specialist. I also contributed photos for the piece.
