Mercury News: A Little Kelp From Their Friends - Divers are Restoring 'Redwoods of the Sea'

This was a local science feature story that I wrote for a class assignment. It ran on the Sunday front page of three local newspapers (The San Jose Mercury News, The East Bay Times, and The Monterey Herald) and on page A2 of a fourth local newspaper (The Santa Cruz Sentinel) the next day. I was also interviewed about the piece for a local radio program called News and Views, which features local journalists. I conducted field reporting and interviewed ten people for the piece, including the main character, people involved with the organization, community members, members of the advisory committee, scientists, and outside commenters.
