Mercury News: An evolution revolution

I originally pitched and wrote this story for the national news outlet Science, but I wanted to adapt it for a regional/local news outlet as well. The team of Northern California scientists in this unique location with technologies and skilled researchers all came together to produce this groundbreaking research and I wanted local people to know about this amazing science happening in their own backyards. I pitched to and worked with the editors of the Mercury News, a regional outlet with a circulation of over 400,000. I also designed and wrote the copy for the graphic, then worked with the outlet's graphic designers to adapt it for their paper.
