Evaluation of the Efficacy of a Cholera Toxin-Based Staphylococcus aureus Vaccine

This project was a clinical trial to test the efficacy of a vaccine for cows to prevent mastitis, or severe udder inflammation, caused by Staphylococcus aureus. Our team designed and produced the vaccine and administered it to cows, then challenged them, or exposed them to the bacteria. We looked to see if the vaccine caused an immune response and/or prevented the vaccinated cows from getting an infection. I was the co-first author of the paper where we published our results.
